well, New Zealand's an island country that AFAIK has VERY strict travel regulations, which directly factor into that statistic.
There are more factors than just "no guns allowed" that should be considered in a statistic like that :v -
The United States has a lot of guns and gun owners. if there were to be a federal ban on guns in the US, how would that even work?
-
What strict travel regulations do we have which account for that statistic? Just curious !
Your argument was that abuse and neglect are a direct factor of determining gun violence, so if that were true-- countries with high rates of abuse should have high rates of gun violence since "enforcing stricter laws or taking away guns won't do anything to lower gun violence"
And what about Asian countries which also have low gun violence statistics but large levels of mental health issues and unrest ? Australia also has incredibly low levels of gun violence. All of these have stricter gun regulation than the US -
yeah, I put AFAIK because I don't know everything about New Zealand.
I mean hell from what i'm reading you can't even bring crayons into NZ -
We have guns in New Zealand if that's what you're unsure of . Which you can purchase. Visitors can also bring guns in using a visitors gun permit . We have stricter laws around guns than the US does however. So I'm unsure what you're trying to suggest with your point sorry??
-
hm. I just have the feeling the cause is much more than just stricter gun regulation, is all.
-
anyway, my main issue with gun control is that the ATF (basically people who pass regulations on guns in the US if you were unaware) have done so many things that have made it clear they don't know jack s--- about guns.
They think a rifle with a short barrel is more dangerous than a rifle with a regular/long barrel.
(It's not.)
They banned silencers.
They think putting a grip on a pistol makes it a rifle. (it doesn't.) -
BTW, a gun might be the only thing saving you from getting mauled by a dangerous animal, whether a Bear or a Gator.
-
we got some deadly s--- here in the US.
-
Hey Ravager, I have a quick question. Would you say that in your day to day life you are more or less worried about being attacked by a bear or an alligator than you are about being shot in school
-
Depends on where I am, and the time of season.
My school has more than one on-duty ARMED officers that actively patrol the place or help out in some areas.
They're pretty cool dudes tbh.
Time of season because while i don't got gators and bears, I do have coyotes.
Though I'd more be worried about a coyote attacking my pets tbh
Oh yeah, rabid animals exist. Never encountered one (thank GOD) but I am scared of the day I do. -
reminds me of children who think quick sand is going to be a much bigger threat than realistically possible
-
I live in the woods where we do have bears, gators and coyotes. I'm more worried about my siblings being safe in school than I am of wild animals.
Also weren't there TONS of armed officers at Uvalde? Seems like that did a lot of good. -
was Uvalde the one where that police chief told the officers to not help?
