I don’t think they did but like
Tell me your views and reasoning -
They didn't make it illegal really. The states decide. If your state bans abortion, just go to a state that doesn't. They might ban out-of-state abortions later, but from what I know, it hasn't been banned yet.

I definitely think criminalizing abortions is a mistake.
It seems like this is a slippery slope and I don't think anyone in politics has our best interest in mind with this. -
My opinion as an idealist has always been to give everyone more access to contraceptives and sex ed. It seems that preventing pregnancy is in everyone's best interest .
I think abortions should be available to everyone, but I want to see the need for them go down because they seem like a very invasive and potentially traumatic procedure. I wish we focused on better ways to prevent unwanted pregnancy so fewer people have to make that decision in the first place
It's always blown my mind that the argument for it didn't focus on this since it seems like such an obvious solution for both sides. Unless you're really religious but like, separation of church and state, right? -
I personally think the ruling was the right choice, although I can understand why some people are upset by it. My opinion on abortions are they should be banned unless the person carrying the baby is at risk. In those situations I understand the need to abort, to protect the mother, But I believe there are other ways to avoid unwanted pregnancy in the first place. Alternatives such as birth control pills, having protection while having sex, or avoiding it all together. I understand sometimes these methods don't work, but I don't believe abortion is the right choice. The supreme Court ruling wasn't too extreme for either sides in my opinion though. The states decide, so it's not like abortion is completely banned in the US, or completely legalized. People are probably going to disagree with me here, but I am open to hearing your opinions, and your reasoning for your take on the matter.

My opinion, simply put is that some people are forced into pregnancy and some people could potentially die from giving birth which isn’t far to them or the child who either dies or goes into foster care as well. In some situations the child will die soon after birth and it’s pointless and heartbreaking to still follow through. The only thing I see potentially wrong with abortion being legal is the murder aspect, but if the child is going to die anyways? And if it’s illegal and the parent dies as well? That’s two deaths instead of the original one.

It makes me feel ill.

I can understand both angles. for, against. Both make sense. It depends. Agree with what mint says up above though.
Am I for or against? Give me the situation.
Right choice? 50/50. And didnt make it illegal -
I just found out this morning and I'm going to throw up from anxiety.
not what I wanted to hear the day season 2 of my favorite series comes out. -
It's absolutely disgusting. Abortions are still going to happen whether or not they're legal. The Supreme Court is taking away the right to safe and legal abortions
-
The government should exist to uphold the constitution. Abortion is not a constitutional right. I don't think it should ever have been a federal issue, and it should be left up to the states to decide. It's not like abortion is completely banned.

It's vile. It's sickening that a group of 5-6 people, who are all men minus one woman, can be able to sit there and decide that abortion is not a right for all uterus bearing people in America. Majority of people living in America believe they deserve to have that choice as well, so their decision does not represent the majority of the people they're making laws for. It makes 0 sense for them to be able able decide that, and cis men should have no right in deciding that fate. Idk why they should be able to police a body that they have never experienced living in lmfao. To have equality between genders means to have the equal chance of experiencing freedom and rights. A cis man will never have to be restricted by a pregnancy while a woman or person w/ a uterus will, and will be punished for it despite not being able to control what body they were born in. That is not equality between genders. That is placing those w a uterus at a disadvantage to those without- while punishing them for it too. Banning abortion has never stopped abortion- it has only created more dangerous methods of having one
Even worse is that one of those twits also wants to look at bills that protect consenting sex between same sex couples, same sex marriage, and ones which protect the right to contraception. Glad I'm not in America and I feel sorry for anybody who is there currently -
In my personal opinion women should be able to have abortions for a large number of reasons, but I feel like this is just the first of many rights they're going to take away
-
I feel like abortion is cruel and should be banned unless they got assaulted or forced into it then that really wasn't the carriers fault they got pregnant.
-
Wait is abortion actually illegal on America now? I thought that it was just going to be banned in certain states, please correct me if I'm wrong
