Thread Topic: Did they make the right choice making abortion illegal

Immense hatred? You hate people who need abortions but you're chill with them being sexually assaulted?
Your morals are f---ed, Ravager. -
Honestly, I want to remain civil but I'm not sure I'll be able to continue my participating in this thread.
If abortion makes you feel so awful, and fills you with hatred, take that feeling, and add far more fear, and then you have the notions of the innocent victims you'd personally force through hell.
I didn't want to bring biological sex into this argument, but honestly? You're male. You will *never* have to fear becoming pregnant due to rape. You will never understand.
And you aren't even pretending to empathise. -
Randomnperson:
Alright so as of reviewing the first link you sent [ WebMD], it does confirm that the method I mentioned can be used outside of what I'd been told
However, no cruelty is mentioned, which contradicts Ravagers claims.
The second article you link doesn't seem to explain what exactly is done, but does back up my point that D&X is often used in the cases of miscarriages or where an early stage abortion isn't possibile.
The third article confirms what the first two say, its realities cruelty free, but still risky to the mother.
The Pro-life source referring to dismemberment can immediately be proven as false, given I can find absolutely zero unbiased sources backing up dismemberment. During a D & X no dismemberment seems to actually occur.
Your unbiased, and pro choice sources seem to back up that, yeah, this article has jsut made up dismemberment claims
I was actually unable to read the fourth article, it wouldn't load π of someone else could check that through for me
So in terms of dismemberment claims, I can't find anything about a fetus being cut into pieces.
His second claim is true, to an extent. He's overstating it to misrepresent the procedure as something way more drastic and painful, but it's a lot different according to the first two articles. Only one of the articles actually gets even slightly close to what he claims and its the pro-life bias article
His final point is complete BS. Injecting poison into the womb would kill the mother. If he is instead referring to a medicinal abortion administered through a needle, then yes. That is a thing that occurs, which is one of the simplest abortion members.
Im very unfamiliar with D & X, as well as struggle with reading through articles [ combination of learning disabilities and English being my second language)
So if I am misrepresenting or overlooking something that is not my intention and I do apologise.
This will likley be my last involvement in this thread, as the way Rape is being compared to abortion is making me severely uncomfortable as a victim. -
You hate people who need abortions but you're chill with them being sexually assaulted?
I'm sorry?
I never so much as IMPLIED that I was chill with sexual assault. Just because i'm against abortion doesn't mean i'm ok with people getting R@PED. What the everloving f---.
And I said Immense hatred because of the general topic of what abortion is: taking the life of someone who hasn't gotten a chance to know what exists outside the womb.
I'm genuinely considering leaving this argument, because of what chainsaw said alone. -
Also, I'd like to bring up a point that everyone ignored when I brought it up: Kermit gosnell.
Ugh.
Former abortion doctor.
He went to prison for a reason.
I don't if I'm even able to get into what he did due to site rules. -
plus I'm at school rn so idk if I would be able to access the articles.
-
@rav
Not to mention it enables Criminal behavior in abortion doctors.
Ever heard of Kermit Gosnell?
He was a real piece of s---. Don't look him up if you can't handle some f---ed up s---.
Honestly this is just an awful argument. Just because one bad abortion doctor did a bad thing, it doesn't mean abortion should be illegal.
There are plenty of jobs that enable bad people to do bad things, but that doesn't make the job itself bad. It just means there are bad people -
My argument about kermit gosnell wasn't about whether or not he was criminal, but what he did.
And again, I don't even know if i could find articles on him(due to being at school) or even show them here due to site rules. -
I understand that, there's absolutely no question that he was an awful person. But what I'm saying is that just because one abortion doctor took advantage of his patients, it's ridiculous to act as if all of them will
-
again, I would like to say more, but the wifi at school just doesn't.
-
I looked him up, I know what he did. But as I keep saying, an abortion doctor who takes advantages of his patients doesn't make abortion bad. Just like, for example, a pastor who takes advantage of members of his church doesn't inherently make Christianity bad
-
hang on, i'm gonna test the links randomperson sent.
-
Alright, they worked. But anyway, yea.
I understand where you are coming from.
Also, am I the only one that thinks chainsaw's post that was blatantly attacking me was completely uncalled for?
I was here to have a debate, not get attacked because I disagree with someone. -
If you genuinely believe babies are suffering and that is upsetting to you then I don't think it's unreasonable to want to be pro life. You just need to make sure your position is logically sound without a shadow of a doubt and that requires that you do research for both sides of the argument.
For example, would you change your opinion if you did research and learned that scientifically, fetuses weren't suffering or living when they were aborted ? I don't know that that's the case. I'm just saying don't have a fixed mindset.
It's not hateful and wrong to be compassionate. It's just your job to listen to the other side with the same level of compassion. Have compassion for women who are being hurt by this and realize that it's not this black and white paradigm of babies being killed by hateful women. There's truth to both sides of the argument.
