Ok, give me exactly how many feet or sqaure feet you want one pitch to eqaul and ill walk you through the math
-
Hmm, I don't know then. How come it's not known that the facts are wrong? It could be the same with the adverts that say a child in Africa dies every 20 seconds..maybe that wouldn't make sense either
-
Well at glance thatd be slightly less outrageous to me because if you figure 3 children per minute 1440 minutes per day, in one year, only 15 mil of the 1.1 billion inhabitants of africa would be dead
-
It would take 7 consecutive years of the same death rate to exceed the population of africa but of course that only slightly less ridiculous because the entire population doesnt decrease evenly across the continent and the point at which extinction is assured is closer than beyond the max death toll

Welcome to the world of sensationalist journalism. People get paid to shock you with problems and cheesy victories.
The vast majority of it isnt useful because the REAL problems are the things you're already so used to, it doesnt shock you anymore -
All im saying, is that real change and progress isnt a cake walk. You guys are right. There isnt really much lost just by signing a petition, except for the fact that the people who sign it, are the ones who are motivated to make progress. So by suckering these people into non productivity, the world is suckered into stagnation.
Real progress isnt physically or mentally easy. You cant be dumb or lazy if yu want to make a difference, no matter how much sensationalists will tell you that one person can make a difference, let me be clear: only the RIGHT one person can make a difference.
And that one person cant be suckered by crap like this.. -
Slim t, your maths are flawed. You aee assuming football pitches are 344 square miles large. That's larger than the town I live in.
First off you're taking the length of the football pitch (a one dimensional measurement) and converting it to the square footage (a two dimensional measurement) and then you convert it straight to square miles at a 1:1 ratio.
The answer to the question of how to plug this into your calcuator is simple.
X = square miles in football field
X * 30 * 60 * 24 * 365
And you get around 43 million.
Just google square miles in football field for the answer for X. -
No my maths fine. Its not even that complicated geek.
360 foot football field is around 77k sq feet. Just multiply by half the seconds in 24 hours.
You dont have to convert to miles than back to feet to do this math -
Because we can solve it all using sq footahe
-
Because we can solve it all using sq footage
-
Your measurment for total amount of forest is in square miles. Therefore to compare it to football fields we must first convert the football fields to miles.
-
Also, you don't seem to understand football fields are made up of square feet not just feet.
1 american football field = 57 600 square feet.
57,600 * 360 * 30 * 60 * 24
Square feet per year. Much larger than your square feet measurement. -
Im measurimg forests and football fields in sq feet. Think I said miles somewhwere along the line but I corrected the typo in the next post.
My measurement was of soccer fields since it was a eauropean website and 77 thousand sq feet is larger than 57 k
Dont be obtuse -
I admit that my measurenent was slightly off for that, as a european I assumed google would know what I meant but it clearly didn't.
You said "360 foot football field is around 77k sq feet"
Which is clearly wrong. 360 football fiels != 77k sq feet. -
Do you mean it's even more than slim t said?
