I frowned, looking over. "You okay?"

I squinted into the dark room trying to spot out Ace. "Mmhmm... I'm good..." I shifted a bit, only to be met by large pangs of pain. I sucked in a breath, hoping that the screaming fire in my body would simmer down.

I placed my hand on his shoulder. It was the first time I actually had to care for a soldier.

I relaxed a bit. His warm hand gave me reassurance... Of what, I wasn't exactly sure. "I'm sorry," I barely whispered.

A shiver whent down my spine- in a good way. "Oh, Kaden... I.." -
I went to pull my hand away. "Sorry..." I whispered, my eyes falling to the ground. "Sorry..."

My eyes flickered up to meet his. "W-w-what?" I murmured, staring into his eyes. I was dreaming... This was surreal. Wake up, Kaden. Wake up. But I was awake. I had always been awake.

"Er... I'm sorry. Did I... Am I?..." I clamped my jaw shut, worried of his response.

I pulled him closer, mustering all of the strength I had left within me. I pressed my lips to his, holding my breath.

I was startled by his actions but enjoyed it nonetheless.
