"Yeah, you do." I brushed my fingers across his cheek. "You should believe in yourself more."

"I don't usually have time to focus on things like smiling or the way I act." He shrugged.

"Well, that's too bad." I brushed a hand through his soft hair.

The left side of his mouth raised slightly in a half-smile. He was actually enjoying this. It didn't seem possible that they could stay that way forever, though. How unfortunate.

I pulled my face closer to his and gently kissed his cheek. I pulled away blushing scarlet.

He blushed as well, though not quite as brightly as she did.

"I'm sorry," I said and scooted off his lap. I wasn't really planning on doing that. It just kinda...happened.

He sat there for a moment, not saying anything.

"I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to do that. I can understand if you're mad at me."

He stared at the floor of the car. "I-I'm not mad..."

I looked at him, surprised. "You're not?" I scooted a bit closer, but I was hesitant.

"No... why would I be?" He didn't look at her, still.

"I don't know. I guess I just assumed..." I trailed off,poking out the front wind shield.

"Well, I'm not."

"Oh." I layed my head onto his shoulder again, hesitantly. "Is it okay if I do this?" I asked.
