I nodded, laughing a bit.

"Or I need a tutor." I said cocking my head to one side, looking at her.

"Don't look at me!" I exclaimed.

"Ok, ok." I grinned, putting Nyx down.

"Time for dinner!" I heard my mom shout from downstairs.

"Chicken!" I stood up and yelled.

I laughed and followed him downstairs.

I lead the way, which is actually kind of funny. We both knew each other's house inside and out, and she lived just two houses away from mine.

When we got downstairs, most of the table was already filled. My two aunts, one uncle, grandmother, grandfather, mom, and dad were all already seated. The two seats left were next to each other. I took one.

I said hi to everyone, by name, and took the only seat next to Elzie.

None of them found it odd for him to be there. As usual.

"So how is everyone?" I said looking around at everyone.

There was a general response of "good"s and "well"s and a few "You?"s. There was also Grandfather telling another story from his childhood, back in "the good old days of wizardry." It was best to ignore him; he didn't have very good hearing.
