I thought for a second, out of my stupor. "Where are we going?"

"The library," I replied. "That is where I said, right?"

I thought some more. "And who are you anyways?"

I frowned and stopped walking. Maybe I was wrong about the friend thing. People used to poke fun like that at me all the time. "I'm Emmeline."

I smiled, not noticing her expression. "Nice to meet you."

"Oh, um... You too..." I started to walk again, this time a bit faster than before. Wear a name tag. We can't tell who you are. There's too many of you.

"I'm... Newton." It was strange... it's like I knew I could trust her not to tell them my name.

"Hi, Newton," I pasted on a smile.

"Nelson is at the library. You should meet him too."

I nodded. "Okay."

"You're pretty." Blurting things out was my specialty...

I blushed. "Thanks," I replied shyly. I was... pretty? Last time I checked I was yellow and a midget...

"Thanks..." I mumbled, repeating back to her. Also a habit of mine- people just called me a copier, though it helped me grasp what one might be saying. "You're welcome!"

I smiled. My suspicions of his 'poking fun' had dissipated. "Here we are," I said, looking up at the library before opening the door.

"I like the library... it's quiet. I like the quiet, it helps me think. That's why I like the library- cos it's quiet."
