I staggered to my feet, picking up my laptop as I did so. My coffee was too far gone. "I'm sorry... I..." I smiled meekly.

I shook my head, and took a step back. I wasn't very good with people. They weren't good with me.

I blushed and stared at my feet. "I... Yeah..." I started to walk away, feeling the heat in my face rise.

"Wait..." I mumbled awkwardly. I hadn't spoken in so long...

I turned around to face him, biting my lip. The heat in my cheeks persisted.

"Ahm... wh'r you?"

"Oh." I smiled shyly. "I'm Emmeline, Emmeline Jameston." I paused for a second. "And you are?"

I winced. I am Newton. Newton the college student that nobody accepts. The weird one... but the smart one... the wackjob... the lunatic... the sociopath... the schizo. "Im... I'm Th...th..Thomas."

I grinned. "I think I've seen you before, Thomas. Are you in my World History class with Dr. Williams?"

I grimaced. "Yes... I think so."

Maybe we'll turn out to be friends... I don't have many friends. Besides Rebekah and Samantha... But I can't really call them TRUE friends... I shrugged. "I was heading to the library to work on my paper. Want to come? I could use a study buddy." I mentally rolled my eyes. Study buddy? Could you have been any stupider, Emmeline?

I atleast tried to smile, my mind still blank. "Yes..."

"C'mon, then," I said cheerily, taking his hand to lead him to the library. I was practically skipping. I must have looked like a complete moron.
D: I gotta go.... I shall be on tomorrow. May the Dancing Sushi be with you. -
I stumbled after her, mumbling somewhat incoherent things.

The thought of having a new friend made me sing inside. I didn't know what it was about me, but people didn't want to be friends with the short Asian girl anymore. I guess that was better than in high school, when people were friends with me just because of that.
