Thread Topic: Who's on?

"Nope." I started walking back to the building.
-
Sorrow watched her start to go. She quickly pulled her phone from her pocket and punched several keys in. She heard a faint "beep" sound from her laptop, and smiled. The moment anyone tried to access the laptop, it would completely freeze up beyond repair. She fingered the flashdrive with all of the information she had hacked out on it, and turned away. She started a sprint away, happy that she had never been lazy, despite her profession. She was plenty fast enough to get away before they opened it.
-
The laptop made a beeping sound. I jumped, dropping it. What if it was a bomb? Instead of going back like I should have, I followed the girl.
-
Sorrow continued on her path until she reached the dorm. She was very happy to see that she hadn't had to stop to rest the whole time.
"Still in pretty good shape." she congratulated herself. She wandered into her room, closing the door behind her. She sat down in front of her huge computer system. Anyone who had never seen this room would think she was an alien filling the earth with foreign technology. And entire section of the room was littered with old computers, phones, manuals, flashdrives, hardware disks, tool kits. All materials a professional hacker needed. She settled herself comfortably and began to trace her laptop. She prepared to destroy it completely, so it was beyond reading. -
Still following her, I stopped, panting, in front of some dorms. What? She lives here?
-
She clicked a few more buttons and pressed the submit key on her main computer. It took up half of the designated space, hooked up to many recievers, screens, cameras, webcams, virus detectors, tracers. She could watch the whole world unfold from her room. The rest of her room was sickeningly clean, as she needed something to do in her spare time. There was a dining room, cooking supplies, a made-up bed with black covers and black curtains. A dining table with two chairs, a desk filled with neatly stacked papers and organized books. She was a compulsive cleaner.
-
Hmm... I entered the building, wondering what room she was in.
-
The laptop successfully destroyed, Sorrow sat back. She waited for something to happen, unsure of what to do now. Sitting alone in the dark, the depression began to take hold again. Her chest tightened until she thought she couldn't breathe. She rushed out of her romm, slamming the door behind her. She leaned against it, clutching her throat and panting heavily.
-
I walked through the halls, looking for someone who might be able to tell me where she was. I saw her outside what I guessed was her dorm. But she didn't look alright. "You okay?"
-
Sorrow looked up in surprise at the girl.
She followed me?
"So I'm not fast enough.." she muttered to herself, straightening up. She opened the door again, trying to ignore the girl. "I'm fine." she said quietly as she began to close the door behind her. -
"You don't look alright," I said, more concerned about her than what she was doing.
-
"Well I'm fine." she whispered through the door, which was only a crack open anymore.
-
(I have to go for a while. I'll be back in a couple hours. Please wait.)
-
(I'll see you if I'm on then.)
I didn't know what to say. I just stood there. -
(I return. Are you here?)
