(Hey, Selena. Wanna keep up?)
-
-
(Yes. And it's your turn.)
-
(Kay.)
Sorrow followed a small digital map she had uploaded from her tracings. Soon, she would be able to see the building.
No one? No one wants to play with me? she sent the text and kept walking. -
Someone walked in and over to me. "Your brother works with computers, right?"
I nodded slowly, confused.
"Good. Call him. Find out what you should look for, then go outside and see if you see someone." They walked off. I stood up and left the area, going outside to call my brother and look for the hacker. -
Sorrow stopped behind a tree, setting her laptop on the ground. She could clearly see the front entrance of the building. She began clicking gnelty on the keys, impatiently waiting for the system to read her complex codes.
Nice. I'm too smart for the computer. -
I walked outside slowly, speaking quietly on my phone.
"Someone with a phone, computer, anything," my brother said. I nodded.
"Okay." In fact, I saw someone with a computer just then... "Gotta go Jacob. Thanks."
I walked over silently. "What, ma'am, are you doing exactly?"
(Lol I just changed the name a little. For some reason, I pictured Jacob as an older James. Not pleasant. Sulfur's smarter than I give her credit for.) -
(My turn, then?)
Sorrow looked up at the face of a girl lingering over her. She shielded her computer screen with her hands and sprang up, hiding the laptop behind her legs.
"None of your business, Mr. Nosy." she said in a pleasant, childish voice, with the slight ring of a threat. -
*Ms. Nosy
-
"Oh really?" I said, grabbing the laptop.
-
Her hand shot out and quickly switched it off, and she glared at the girl.
"Ma'am, I believe that is my laptop you have there, so if you don't mind, I'll be taking it back now." she said, still eyeing her. Even if she turned it back on, she didn't know the passcodes. -
"Why are you here?" I asked.
-
Sorrow smiled sweetly.
"Cuz I want to be. I don't see any keep out signs, you know?" she said, straining to sound nonchalant. She hadn't had to deal with this before.
"My laptop?" she repeated, holding out her hands. -
"Yes, actually, I do." I pointed at the NO TRESPASSING sign a few yards away from us.
-
Sorrow decided to play stupid. She looked back at the sign and looked back.
"Oh. There it is. Well, hand over my laptop, and I'll be on my way." she smiled again.
