He bit his lip as he felt the fear grow. But he managed to blurt out, "Yeah, what if I was?"

"...Well I guessed we'd have to teach you guys a lesson." "Beat the fag out of ya!" Alex growled and punched the last one who spoke, that boy falling to the ground. "How bout I beat the ignorance out of you?"

Nick gasped loudly and felt himself wanting to run away, it was just simply too much for him to take. But he couldn't run, he just watched and felt his knees buckle.

Since they were behind the school, there was no one else who had noticed. The jocks took their beaten friend. "This isn't over, gay boy." One spat as they left.
Alex sighed, turning back to Nick. "I'm sorry, I really am." -
"I get scared so easily, I'm sorry," he choked as he shivered.

He pulled him into his arms tightly. "Don't be sorry. I just get so mad..."

He nodded and only clung to him. "You had a reason to get mad."

"I love you." He kissed him softly.

"I love you too.." he said in a quiet tone.

The bell unfortunately had to ring, causing Alex to sigh.

"Dammit.."

"Nick..are you going to be okay?" He still held him close.

"I don't know. Maybe," he said sadly.

"I don't want to leave you, I'm worried."

Nick sighed. "If only there was a way we could stay together."
