"Thanks." He went up and hugged him softly. "Sorry, I just felt like showing you this place before lunch, since the jerks were all around and stuff..."

"It's okay," he smiled.

He smiled back, and pulled away. "They're probably gone now if you're hungry. And if they're not I won't let them pull anything..."

"I'm not hungry, don't worry."

"Kay. Oh, I think she's here." He walked over to the tree toward the middle of the setting, and saw a small blue bird with a broken wing pecking at the ground hungrily. "Here you are, poor thing." He pulled off a piece of bread he brought for it to eat.

"That's so adorable," he gasped, looking at the small bird with interest.

The bird nibbled on the piece of bread peacefully. "Isn't it?" Alex smiled lightly up at him.

He nodded. "T-thank you so much.. For showing this to m-me.."

"It's no problem. You're...the one I want to share this with."

"I'm happy you showed me this.. I really appreciate it.."

"Anytime." He laid back in the grass, under the tree. "Wanna sit?" He waved him over.

"Sure," he said, sitting next to Alex.

"Sometimes I wonder why school has to be such a game of who's popular and who's not. Like when they look at us they either ignore us or act like we're circus freaks."

"Yeah.. It's so much harder now that we're older.." He sighed sadly. "I've always wanted to fit in, but.. I'm not their type.."

"I'm glad you're not their type. I like you just as you are."
