"Good, I think. Boring though." He returned the smile. "How about with you?" -
"Same, just a middle aged man dressing like he's going to animecon." He chuckled.

Nick giggled. "Really? I didn't see such a thing.."

"Yeah heh, at least he didn't dress up like Sailor Moon or something..." He laughed lightly and cringed.

"Ew!" he snickered.

"Well now that we have no appetite, let's go eat." He walked with him.

Nick laughed and nodded, smiling along the way.

He smiled as well, fighting an urge to reach out and grab his hand.

He found himself looking around, as to keep watch for any one who might come up to him and bully him. He wanted to press close against Alex, but he didn't, out of embarrassment.

Alex noticed a group ahead of them near the cafeteria doors. He sighed lightly. "I know a safer way." He took Nick's arm and lead him down the hallway.

Nick followed behind.

He lead him out a door and then one that went outside. It was adjacent to the cafeteria. It was surrounded however by a lovely garden and fresh air.

Nick's mouth opened a little, in surprise. "W-wow.. It's amazing.."

Alex smiled. "It's the project garden I helped with in Bio last year. I really like it here, it's like the only peaceful place on school grounds."

"You guys did great.." he said breathlessly, looking around with wide eyes.
