According to Google, pressing SHIFT+COMMAND+4 all at the same time should allow you to enter snippet mode. From there, click and drag the cursor to select a portion of the screen to take a screenshot of. Then you can edit the screenshot and save it, etc.

the humidity in the halls combined with the speckled tile and ugly beige walls reminds me a lot of the mental hospital
