Personally I like hearing about artists talking about their work, or how they got to where they are, if that’s what you mean.
Typically as long as the person actually cares enough about their topic I’ll listen, -
It depends on the audience. Some people love hearing about politics and how bridges are evil and we need more parks but other people think that's crap.
If you're preparing to give a speech (assuming that's why you're asking?) I would agree with Puppet and say that you need to have a topic you feel passionately about and can make a good argument for. You can pretty much talk about anything. I had a public speaking class about six months ago that I had to give about thirty "speeches" for (yeah it sucked) and the topics ranged from "should we discontinue Daylight Savings Time?"I totally advocated for that like a bawseto "should schools provide free condoms to prevent teen pregnancy?"yeah that one was...interesting...
The key is to know your audience and their interests, and tailor your speech to them. You can share a really inspirational story from your life, or give your opinion on an issue you feel strongly about.
Hope that helped at least a little because I'm reading this and it makes no sense...
If you need actual ideas I can give you the list of topics I had for my public speaking class. Or you can just google speech topics.
Personally I would give a speech on how HTTYD changed my life but that's just me :P -

Hiccy: Thank you so much! My English teacher just wanted us to work on our public speaking skills. I get really nervous around most of the people in my class. So I wanted to know about what people find interesting lol.

Glad to be of help though. Honestly if you want to interest your peers you could just give a speech on the pros and cons of farting in public. Just a thought. -

I mean, I personally always gravitate towards the inhumaneness of shark fin soup because I really love sharks. They literally take a shark who is just minding its own business and cut off its fins while the shark is still alive and then proceed to throw the finless shark back into the ocean where it later drowns because it can't swim. Not only is that a disgusting way to kill an animal, but sharks also contain mercury which can kill someone or make them very sick, so when someone consumes shark fin soup, they are also risking getting very sick and I don't see how anyone wins out of that. And I could go on because this is something that I'm passionate about, but I'll stop
