Thread Topic: my new official thread.

I love it here. Where I live isn't as electric green as most of Oregon though. Probably because it is in the high desert. But eve's still, I love out blue skys, shabby pine trees, and beautiful view.
-
We live on an 800-foot-gravel hill out in the country so we have a wonderful view too. We have 1 1/2 acres so we have some space to ourselves, not much, but still....
We have a lot of fir trees and lots of open area. I just love going outside! -
Oh cool, what mountains can you see from your house? How is eleven acres not enough space?
Oh cool, I don't see fir trees a lot out here, we mainly get those ugly juniper that grow like a weed.[ -
I said 1 1/2 (one and a half) acres....I can't really see any mountains from my house. But if we're out and about in Salem we can see Hood, Jefferson, and St. Helens.
-
Oh, my mistake. Even still, a only have two thirds of an acre so you still have a lot more room than us.
Oh, we have a view of the cascades if we look to the west, I don't know if I can see any of those from here though. -
Have you heard this poem before? It was written by Amy Carmichael. I read it in one of my school books. Hope you like it.
When I refuse the easy thing for the love of my dear Lord,
And when I choose the harder thing for love of my dear Lord,
And do not make a fuss or speak a single grumbling word;
That is discipline.
When everything seems going wrong and yet I will not grouse,
When it is hot, and I am tired, and yet I will not grouse,
But sing a song and do my work in school and in the house;
That is discipline.
When Satan whispers, Scamp your workto say to him, I wont,
When Satan whispers, Slack a bitto say to him, I wont,
To rule myself and not to wait for others Do and Dont;
That is discipline.
When I look up and triumph over every sinful thing,
The things that no one knows aboutthe cowardly, selfish thing
And when with heart and will I live to please my glorious King;
That is discipline.
To trample on that curious thing inside me that says I,
To think of others alwaysnever, never of that I,
To learn to live according to my Saviors word, Deny;
That is discipline. -
No, I don't believe I have. It's a nice poem though.
-
It's very refreshing, compared to today's modern poetry...
-
It is.
-
So.....what do you want to talk about now?
-
I don't know.
-
These are so cool -
Okay. So, I'm guessing you go to church and read the Bible and pray and all that good stuff?
-
Yeah they are pretty cool
