There are three dimensions: Light, Dark, and Neutral. Those from the dark dimension have found a way to connect all three, if only for a short while. Their way requires power from an unlikely source, which they only have few of. They plan on connecting the dimensions long enough to get more of the power source, and find all the information they can on the other two dimensions before waging war and ruling all three. The power source? Those with souls closer to the "light" side, rather than the "dark".
