‘G-Get off me, I need to check on Jayden,’ Chester said, worry for his boyfriend growing as he tried to pull away from Beatrice.

"You really can't leave your little toy alone for 10 seconds?" Beatrice snapped before regaining composure. "We've barely talked!" She tried to yank him closer.

Chester resisted, but couldn’t yank himself from Beatrice’s grip. ‘He’s not my toy! And I don’t want to talk to you!’

"He's like a little pet that can't be alone for a few seconds before it starts craving attention!" Beatrice argued. "Are you really going choose that for yourself?!"

‘He’s not! He’s never been like that!’ Chester protested.

"When was the last time you left him alone and didn't wind up regretting it?"

‘That’s because of Benji, not him!’

Beatrice rolled her eyes. "You think that patterns going to stop?" She snapped.

‘Well, Benji’s leaving, so it won’t happen again,’ Chester snapped, trying to sound braver than he was. ‘Let go of me.’

"One day he'll ask too much of you, and when you finally break down, he'll leave." Beatrice said confidently, letting go of him after.

Chester glared, taking a step back. ‘He would never. A-And I’m not that fragile.’

Beatrice raised an eyebrow. "You'll see."

Chester exhaled shakily, storming out and slamming the door behind him. He hurried to his room and walked through the already open door. ‘J-Jayden?’

Jayden looked up, standing up immediately and wrapping his arms around him. "I'm here."

Chester held onto him tightly, trying not to cry. ‘I-I’m so sorry, love.’
