Chester frowned. ‘No. Why would I think that?’

"Because I'm clingy and can't be left alone and I get upset all the time." Jayden said quickly.

‘You don’t get upset all the time. You get upset when someone is a jerk, and rightfully so. I know you’re fine with me leaving you alone, but it’s a different story when it’s with Benji because I’m scared he’ll harass you,’ Chester said softly, wrapping his arms around his waist. ‘You’re not high maintenance, Benji and Beatrice are s---ty people.’

Jayden sunk into his arms. "But I was a mess before they came here." He mumbled.

‘I don’t think you were,’ Chester said softly. ‘You can be sad sometimes, love. Everyone is.’

Jayden sighed, dropping it. "Are you feeling better?" He asked after a moment.

'A little,' Chester mumbled.

Jayden kissed the top of his head. "Are you going to eat your food?"

'Oh, yeah,' Chester said, grabbing his plate. 'Did you not grab yours?'

Jayden shook his head. "I'm not hungry."

'You can have some of mine,' Chester offered, taking a bite from his side of salad. 'I don't want you to go hungry.'

Jayden shook his head. "I'm not hungry." He repeated. "I'll be fine."

'If you do get hungry, have some of mine,' Chester said, snuggling closer as he ate.

Jayden rested his chin on Chester's shoulder, not wanting to let him go. Stop being so clingy.

Chester smiled, kissing the top of his head. 'You're so cute.'
