Jayden let him, smiling weakly.

Chester smiled softly back, letting go of his hand.

Jayden reached for his hand again.

Chester let him, rubbing the back of it.

Jayden offered him his pocket watch with his free hand.

Chester took it and set it on the bed, holding Jayden closer.

Jayd let him, smiling weakly.

Chester gave a small smile back. ‘I love you.’

Jayden smiled wider, holding him close.

Chester looked a little disheartened when Jayden didn’t respond, but held him close and tried not to let it get to him.

Jayd looked up at him. "What's wrong?" He asked quietly.

‘Nothing,’ Chester mumbled.

Jayden frowned. "I don't believe you. Did I do something?" He hoped it wasn't what he thought it was.

‘No, of course not,’ Chester said quietly, avoiding his gaze.

Jayden frowned. He held Chester's chin in his hand, tilting it so he'd make eye contact. "Are you sure?"
