The two got to the dining hall. Chester opened the door for Jayden, twisting one of the rings on his middle finger bc that’s what we agreed on.

Jayden walked in, noticing him twisting the ring around. "You okay?"

Chester glanced at him. ‘Of course,’ he said, nodding quickly. He followed him inside and shut the door.

"Really? You're acting nervous."

‘I’m not nervous,’ Chester said, slightly flusteredly as he sat down.

"Oh really?" Jayden sat down next to him.

‘Yes! Why would I be nervous?’ Chester insisted.

"Well you're hiding something from me, so that!"

‘Why would I be hiding something from you?’

"I dunno, you were refusing to say why you were staring!"

‘I wasn’t staring!’ Chester insisted.

"Were too! You were stealing glances at me like I was money!"

‘I wasn’t!’ Chester insisted, tone harsher than he meant it to be. He looked away, cheeks burning.

Jayden heard the harsh tone and shut up quickly. "Sorry."

Chester rested his chin in his hand, not saying anything.
