Jayd beamed. "Thanks. Watcha doing?"

‘Work,’ Chester said, grabbing his pen and scribbling a couple things down. ‘I’ve got most of it done, though. We can hang out till lunch when I’m finished, if it won’t be awkward…’

"Of course." Jayden nodded, smiling.

Chester smiled. ‘Good. I mean, cool,’ he said, scribbling something down and grabbing a piece of paper and copying something.

Jayd found a shelf of books because yeah we're doing to diary thing rn. "Can I see these?" He asked.

Chester glanced over at him. ‘Um, yeah, sure,’ he said, looking back down with flushed cheeks. He didn’t want to say no to him. At least those diaries were like a year old.

Jayden noticed him red with embarrassment and frowned. "You can say no if you don't want me to."

‘No, it’s okay, you can look through them,’ Chester said, shrugging. ‘They’re just old diaries. What’s the first date on that one?’

"Uhm." Jayden took it and opened it. "May 20th, 1883 unless Alexi says otherwise. So about a year and a half ago." -

So let’s just say it would be like November for them now)
‘Ah.’ Chester thought for a moment. The breakup with Beatrice had been in September. He figured that wasn’t too bad. ‘Yeah, sure, you can read it.’ -
(yeah cuz Jayen's birthday is in December which is a month away)
Jayd smiled, opening it up and flipping through the pages and you don't have to summarize it or anything because we both already know it's about Chester meeting Beatrice and falling for her. Jayd's smile faded a bit, hands holding the book tighter than before. -

Okay lol. Chester glanced at Jayden, noticing his expression change, but he didn’t think too much of it and turned back to his work. -
Jayden read even more about this awesome duchess and how she was just incredible. He got even more pissed off.
(ok but are we going to do the think where Chester had the fOrBiDDen tHouGHt of what if they end up together in the night?) -
Chester glanced at Jayden. ‘Are you okay?’ he asked, noticing him growing tense.
(Ooo maybe but I might word it better so it’s less awkward lmao) -
"Yup. I'm great."
