Chester buried his face in the crook of his neck.

"What did I say wrong?" Jayden asked after a moment, desperate to make it right.

Chester frowned, looking up at him. ‘You didn’t say anything wrong,’ he said quietly.

"Then what are you upset about?"

‘Beatrice,’ Chester said quietly, and he vexed Oliver for that stupid medication. ‘And the fact I’m a stupid little rabbit.’

Jayd frowned. "What does Beatrice have to do with this?" He asked quietly before remembering that now Chester had to answer.

‘You asked “what kind of partner would that make me”, but I didn’t want to say “a partner like Beatrice”,’ Chester mumbled.

Jayd pulled him into a hug. "I'm so sorry." He murmured.

‘It’s not your fault,’ Chester mumbled.

"I'm not apologizing for what I did." Jayden responded. I'm apologizing because we both know she won't.

‘It’s still not your fault.’

"Chester. You deserve an apology."

‘From her, not you.’

"Has she ever apologized to you?"

‘… she once apologised that I wasn’t good enough for her… I think it was sarcastic though..’
