Jayd smiled back.

Chester kissed his forehead.
Oliver stood up. ‘Chester, I’ll need you to come with me if we want to figure out what this is.’ -
Jayden looked up at the two of them, not saying anything.

Chester sighed and nodded, standing. ‘Do you want to come, love?’

Jayden looked at Oliver. He wanted to, obviously.

Oliver shrugged.

Jayd stood up, nodding.

Oliver walked towards the door. Chester followed.

Jayden followed him as well.

The two got to Oliver’s office. It was fairly small, with a large bookshelf and a desk, with a sofa next to it. Oliver pulled out a thick book and started going through it.

Jayd sat down on the sofa, watching Oliver.

Oliver went through it for a few moments. He glanced at Chester. ‘Any symptoms beside that?’
Chester shook his head.
‘Alright,’ Oliver said, looking back at the book. ‘Ah.’
‘What?’
‘I think I know what you have.’ -
Jayden sat up. "What is it?" He asked immediately.

‘Violet fever. Nobody quite knows how it’s caught, but it’s caught between people with powers and messes them up,’ Oliver explained. ‘People who teleport can’t control it anymore, and when it gets worse, their own limbs disappear. People who can talk to animals can hear everything any animal says for miles. And people who shapeshift would have what you have.’ Oliver grimaced. ‘When it gets worse, you’ll probably adopt traits of the animal you morph into.’

Jayden frowned, looking at Chester worriedly. "How do we fix it?" He asked quietly.
