Lavender and Maeve

Lavender didn't say anything for a moment, leaning into her. Please just hold me. She asked internally, knowing Maeve couldn't hear her. She worried asking her out loud would sound like she was touch starved and begging for attention- which she supposed she was.

Maeve wrapped an arm around her. She could tell Lavender wasn’t okay, but didn’t want to pry. She played with her hair. ‘Tell me if this hurts.’

Lavender nodded, burying her face in Maeve's shoulder. "Tell me if I go too far."

‘I know. You’ve told me about five times in the past 10 minutes.’

"You never gave me a good answer." Lavender laughed weakly.

Maeve chuckled, holding her close. She started braiding her hair.

Lavender leaned into her touch, wrapping her arms around her waist.

Maeve blushed, smiling.

Lavender watched her with a lovestruck grin.

Maeve grinned back, continuing to braid her hair. ‘Do you have a ribbon? Or any hair ties?’

Lavender untied a ribbon from her arm. She liked to have something to pull her hair back on hand at all time. She offered it to Maeve, still grinning dorkily.
(ok but why does the song Scatterbrained fit the two of them so well-) -
Maeve smiled and took it, tying the bottom of the braid into a bow.
(Fr tho-) -
"Are you done?" Lavender asked after a moment, trying not to move too much and ruin it.

‘Yep.’

Lavender turned her head back so she could see Maeve, grinning before snuggling further into her. "Thanks."
