"Okay. You just sounded uncomfortable." Lavender hesitantly leaned back into her.

‘I wasn’t,’ Maeve said quickly.

"Okay." Lavender smiled. She interlaced their fingers.

Maeve smiled, squeezing her hand

Lavender blushed. She fell so hard for her. She blamed it on the fact that Maeve was pretty.

Maeve grinned, blushing as well.

Lavender snuggled further into her. "You'll tell me if I start making you uncomfortable, right?"

Maeve blushed harder. ‘O-Of course.’

Lavender didn't like the fact that she was stuttering. She looked up, noticing she was blushing. She assumed it was out of embarrassment, and sat up straight. "Sorry."

‘Wh-What? Sorry for what?’

"For embarrassing you." Lavender mumbled, looking down. "A-and making you uncomfortable." She hated that she liked Maeve like that. She was definitely out of her league. She felt like there was a huge fence with a No Trespassing! sign on it wrapped around Maeve's heart to guard it and protect it from people like Lavender.

‘I-I’m not uncomfortable!’ Maeve said quickly, shuffling closer to her. ‘What makes you think that?’ What did I do wrong?

"When you answered that you'd tell me if I was making you uncomfortable, you were stammering and looking nervous and embarrassed. You were too nervous to tell me you were uncomfortable, and you were embarrassed because I was snuggling into you!" She didn't mean to raise her voice, and once she did she wanted to take it back immediately. She buried her face in her hands, not wanting to see Lavender's reaction.

Maeve blinked. After a few moments of her trying to register what Lavender had said, she looked down, sure she’d done something wrong. ‘A-Are you okay? I wasn’t embarrassed,’ Maeve mumbled. ‘Do you want me to take you home?’

Great. Now she hates you and wants you to leave her alone. "I'm great." She sighed. "You can take me home if you want."
