‘Eh, not really. I don’t like making Albert make all my mac and cheese,’ Vincent said. He opened one of the openings and fiddled with the wires. ‘Probably an internal problem, but I have more important things to work on than fix it. Perhaps you could have a go?’
-
Sebastian looked at the wiring before pulling one of the red wires out gently. "Do you have any wire strippers?"
-
Vincent grabbed one out of his tool belt and handed it to him, peeking over his shoulder.
-
Sebastian twirled the wire stripper around in his hands before carefully peeling a quarter inch or so of plastic from the wire off. Then they made sure the actual wires weren't fried before sticking it back in. "See if it works now."
-
Vincent looked at Albert, who grabbed the mac and cheese ingredients from a small cabinet in the corner and put them in one side of the machine. Vincent pulled a lever and the ingredients moved into the machine.
-
Sebastian watched intently, wanting to be right very badly. He was a little competitive when he wanted to be.
-
The mac and cheese came out with little to no problems. Vincent went to grab it, and a small portion of cheese shot out and stained his shirt, but he didn’t care much. ‘I think you’ll be a great apprentice, my friend.’
-
Sebastian smiled, a real smile, not a small one like he did all the times before. "I'll try." They grinned. So what if it was a half lie?
-
Vincent grinned back and turned around, turning off the mac and cheese machine, which he’d obviously named Mac. ‘I’m quite famished. Would you like to have some dinner?’
-
"Don't you want to change shirts first?" Sebastian asked, looking very puzzled by this man. He'd dealt with his fair share of mad people, but never one who seemed so delightfully unaware of it.
-
Vincent looked down at his shirt. A part of it was clearly dripping with cheese. ‘… no, why would I? We’re not eating outside, so the wind won’t blow the dust into my food… Albert, is there wind inside buildings?’
‘No, master.’
‘Great! Let’s go eat, then!’ -
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, but didn't mention it. Maybe this job would be more entertaining than usual. He hoped so, at least.
-
Vincent started walking off, ducking between machines to get to a different room
-
Sebastian looked at all the machines. They couldn't remember if they brought the camera or not. He really hoped he did. Drawing all the machines sounded really tedious.
-
Vincent finally got to a door, and he opened it. It was a small dining room, with a single rectangle table. There were six seats, five of them covered in dust.
