Kathy smiled a little, gaining a bit more confidence. "Like- like, the first ever was comic- or, rather comic strip- was published in 1835 by Rodolphe Töpffer, but he made his first comic in 1827- that wasn't published until ten years later." Michael groaned softly, grabbing another comic book and opening it. "Yeah, yeah, you're so smart-" Kathy blushed a little, looking down at her hand that began scratching her knuckles.
-
“Dude, that’s cool,” Ed said with a chuckle. “Do you do that for school, too? Or is it just for random facts?”
-
"For- for both, I guess," Kathy replied, looking back up and meeting Ed's eyes for a short moment. "Mostly just, random facts-" "Maybe you should learn school facts so you're grades will be better-" Michael teased, making Kathy glare at him. "My grades are better than yours."
-
“Okay, Mike, leave her alone,” Ed said with a quiet chuckle, winking at Kathy.
-
Kathy blushed, a small smile on her face. "I'm still smarter," Michael said, making the blonde roll her eyes. "Homeschooling doesn't make me smarter-" "Your other school wasn't any better," Michael stated, making Kathy tense up.
-
“Well, I’m just stupider than all of you, let’s leave it there,” Ed said with a chuckle.
-
Kathy glanced over, a small smile on her face as relief washed over her. "I'm sure you're not that stupid," she teased, giggling quietly.
-
“I’m not stupid in stupid stuff,” Ed stated with a chuckle. “Like singing and tetris.”
-
"Singing's not stupid-" "YO, I love Tetris!" Michael exclaimed, jumping up and dropping his comic. "I have Tetris on my Switch, you wanna see??"
-
“Hell yeah!” Ed said with a chuckle, climbing to his feet. “Show me the way-“
-
Michael smiled and nodded, grabbing Ed's hand and leading him back out to the living room. Kathy watched Ed for a moment with a smile before looking away, feeling her face heat up. God, stop staring, Kathy- She exhaled and stood from Michael's bed, following the two of them.
-
Ed chuckled softly as he followed Michael out, hunching over slightly so he wasn’t breaking his wrist.
-
"Kathy, help me hook it back up," Michael said, letting go of Ed's hand and going over to the TV. Kathy nodded and walked over to the cabinet the TV sat on, crouching down and opening it up. "I thought I showed you how to do it already," she said, pulling out one of the wires of the dock and hooking it up. "Well, I forget-"
-
“Real, honestly,” Ed said with a chuckle, moving to sit on the couch.
-
"There, all done," Kathy said as she stood back up, ruffling Michael's hair. She turned and looked over, seeing Ed was sat right beside her usual spot. She walked over and carefully sat down next to him, a nervous look on her face. "Here, catch-" Michael said, tossing a controller to Ed.
