Ed grinned, watching Kathy for a moment. “Uh, yeah, we do mostly Hozier. What’s your favorite one of his songs?”
-
"Uhm, I like Someone New- and Too Sweet," Kathy replied in a soft voice, a small smile on her face. "Wh- What about you?" She forced out, remembering to always ask about the other person. Don't make it about you.
-
“Oh, God, that’s a hard one,” Ed said, leaning back in his seat and gently grabbing his chin while he thought. “I dunno, I like singing Francesca. But also when he sings- uh, y’know, Northern Attitude with Noah Kahan, thats fire-“
-
"Oh, that's a good one- Noah Kahan's a great singer too," Kathy replied, nodding as her smile grew a little bit. "I like Stick Season, but that's a little overrated- I think Glue Myself Shut is my favorite, though, it's a very pretty song-"
-
“Shut up, you know that song? I thought I was the only one,” Ed said with a chuckle, smiling widely.
-
"Yeah, it's- it's a great song~" Kathy replied, giggling softly. "There's this other artist, Noah Floresch, he has some good songs, too- my favorite one is Ghost of Chicago." Lauren smiled and took a bite of her food, watching Kathy for a moment before looking away.
-
“Ooh, yeah, his song went viral a little while ago, didn’t it? Not bad, honestly,” Ed shrugged, smiling and watching Kathy for a moment.
-
"I like it a lot, I learned it on piano in just a few hours," Kathy admitted, giggling softly.
-
“Shut up, you play piano too?” Ed said with a smiled, taking a bite of his pasta.
-
"Yeah, I- I do," Kathy spoke softly, nodding shortly. "I mean, I- I haven't done it in a while, since I don't have one here that- that I can use-"
-
“Oh, yeah, fair,” Ed nodded, leading back in his seat. “My buddy’s got when, his house is where we practice. Maybe you could come with me sometime, show me what you got.”
-
Kathy froze up, her eyes widening a little. "N-No thanks, I'm- I'm good-" She spoke anxiously, her hand shaking a little before she gripped her fork tightly.
-
“Aw, c’mon, it could be fun,” Ed said with a soft smile. “C’mon Kathy, you should go!” Michael butted in.
-
"N-No, really, it's fine," Kathy spoke, her voice wavering a little. "C'mon, hun, I'm sure it'd be fun," Lauren spoke, smiling a little at Kathy, "plus, you really need to get out more-" "I said, no thank you," Kathy repeated as she quickly stood up, her words coming out a bit harsher than she intended. She exhaled shakily, setting her fork down on the table and leaving the dining room.
-
Ed raised his eyebrows, watching Kathy leave. “Is she good?”
