underwater.
c1 didn’t mean to do anything wrong that day. actually, they meant to do something right. but their kind act inadvertently played a role in a deadly tragedy. in order to move on, c1 must learn to forgive—first someone who did something that might be unforgivable, and then herself.
but c1 can’t move on. they can’t even move beyond the front door of the apartment they share with her mother and little brother. c1 feels like they're underwater, unable to surface. unable to see their friends. unable to go to school.
when it seems c1 can’t hold her breath any longer, a new boy moves in next door. c2 reminds her of the salty ocean air and the rush she used to get from swimming. c2 might be just what c1 needs to help them reconnect with the world outside.
(is there a specific character you wanna be? bc ngl i was thinkin kathy as c1 and ed as c2, but we could switch it up if you wanted to-
and also i was thinking like, cause i hc the two of them as very musical ppl (ed's totally in a band and kathy's totally a theatre kid- xD), we could change the stuff abt swimming to stuff abt theatre or the band (whoever we chose to be which char??) -

(i did! the only thing i wanted to say way i feel like it was kinda the opposite for like who was chaotic
when i made them in the so american rp i feel like ed was more chaos and kathy was a bit more calm? idk maybe ed could be a little more disorganized and disheveled and kathy has to drag him to stuff and make sure he’s on time??) -

honestly, i was kind of imagining like, smth like their personalities kinda switched, in a sense? like, sometimes kathy would be crazy and ed would be the one to calm her down, then vice versa? idk how to word what i was thinking, tbh-
but i like that, yeah :)

"Y'know, Kathy used to be in theatre back at her old high school," Lauren said with a smile, glancing at her annoyed daughter. "She also did it back in middle school, along with choir~" Kathy groaned softly, hugging her legs to her chest as she continued to eat.

“Oh, no s---?” Ed said with a smile before slapping a hand over his mouth. “Way, I meant way, I’m so sorry-“ he said, chuckling awkwardly.

"Oh, you're fine, don't worry," Lauren said with a chuckle, smiling warmly at Ed. "Yeah, she did- she's got a great voice, too~" "Kill me now," Kathy muttered, covering her bright red face with one arm.

“Why’d you stop doing theatre? Lost interest?” Ed asked, taking a bite of his spaghetti. -
"I just, don't get out much anymore," Kathy muttered, twirling her pasta around her fork but not taking a bite. "I uhm, just- got busy, I guess." Lauren exhaled softly, watching her daughter. "What about you, Ed? You mentioned wanting to go to an arts school after you graduate- do you do theatre?"

“Uh, I’m a lead singer, in a band,” Ed said with a proud smile. “Woah, no way? Have you written songs?” Michael asked, pasta stuffed in his mouth. “No, we mostly do covers of songs, like, Hozier, and David Kushner-“

"Hozier?" Kathy asked, her interest piqued. "I like Hozier, me makes good music-" She stopped herself, quickly looking back at her plate. "That's uh, cool- I guess."
