Ed sat up and groaned softly, stretching his arms over his head. "Nah, you're alright," he said, rubbing his eyes as he stood up to his full height. "Not even my house, anyways- Well, I suppose it used to be, then it wasn't, and now it is again?"
-
James stepped back, looking up at him, clutching the strap of the camera he had around his neck. He snapped a picture of him. ‘Who are you, sir? I-I don’t believe I’ve seen you around.’ Disregarding the fact he hadn’t been around for nearly 9 years.
-
"Uh, ever heard of consent??" Ed spoke, furrowing his brows after James took the photo. "And for your information, my name's Ed. As for why you've never seen me around, let's just say, I don't get out much-"
-
‘Oh,’ James said, looking down at the photo his camera had took. Ed looked quite handsome in the moonlight. ‘Well, do you have a place I can stay for the night? I don’t have anywhere to sleep.’
-
"I mean, you can stay in the guest room," Ed suggested, shrugging. "Not like there's anyone else here. In exchange, I'd like to take a look at your little camera-like contraption-" He said, pointing to the camera hanging around James' neck.
-
‘Oh, er, sure,’ James said, pulling the camera off his neck and handing it to Ed. ‘Just don’t break it. Or delete anything.’
-
Ed furrowed his brows but nodded, taking the camera. "Damn, this is cool- so, it is like a camera, just, very small," he said, lifting the camera into the air a little and peering at it.
-
‘I’ve seen smaller,’ James said, watching him play with the camera wearily.
-
"Really? How do they fit the film in??" Ed asked, his brows furrowing further. "Incredible piece of machinery," he mumbled, lowering the camera and handing it back to James. "Well then, allow me to show you to the guest room," he said with a small smile, stepping out of the coffin and heading out of the room.
-
‘The film is small,’ James said, then followed him out. He watched the man curiously, feeling there was something… strange about him. ‘When was the last time you went outside?’
-
"Dunno, been ages," Ed replied with a soft chuckle, shrugging. "What day is it?" He asked as he rubbed his eyes, walking down the hall.
-
‘Uh, Tuesday the 7th,’ James said with a chuckle. ‘1950.’
-
Ed froze in his tracks, turning to face James. "What the f--- did you just say?" He asked, his brows furrowed.
-
James seemed to shrink. ‘1950?’
-
"1950- Holy f---ing s---, are you serious-" Ed exclaimed, panicking for a moment. "Jesus, I was out for a long f---in' time, wasn't I-" He muttered, trying to rack his brain and remember what happened.
