"We'll be back in a few days, Penny, don't worry~" Connor said with a chuckle, petting Penny for a moment before stepping out of the gate.

Penny meowed loudly as they walked out the door, Evan looking at Connor. “Damn, that’s so sad-“

"I know, my heart hurts hearin' her cryin'," Connor said, chuckling softly as he looked back.

Evan giggled quietly, grabbing Connor’s hand. “You’ll have her soon enough, c’mon- let’s get Amethyst home.”

Connor smiled and nodded, gently squeezing Evan's hand as he walked with him.

They made it out to the car, opening the door and gently sliding Amethyst in on the backseats. She meowed, scratching at the walls. “You’re okay, baby-“

Connor got in the back seat with Evan, buckling up. "I miss her already-" He jokingly whined, a sad look on his face as he looked back at the rescue center.

“Only a few more days, babe, and she’ll be all yours~” Evan said, sticking a finger into the crate to pet Amethyst as she meowed loudly.

"I know- I just hope I don't f--- it up," Connor spoke softly, hugging his legs to his chest.

“You’ve got one more day, babe, and I’ll stick with you for the whole time,” Evan said softly, giving him a reassuring smile.

Connor smiled and looked over at Evan, nodding. "Thanks, hun," he said quietly, resting his head on his knees as he admired his boyfriend for a moment.

“You’re welcome,” Evan said with a soft smile. “And thanks dad, for letting me get Amerhyst-“

Connor stared at the crate, watching Amethyst inside with a small smile.

“She’s so cute,” Evan said with a bright smile, watching the cat, who meowed loudly.

"She definitely is," Connor said with a chuckle, watching Evan for a moment. "Not cuter than you, though~" He said, playfully smirking at his boyfriend.
