“Oh, I’m sorry,” George said, watching Clay for a moment. “Do you wanna talk about it?”
-
“I think I need a hug first,” Clay murmured, looking down at the floor.
-
“Aw, you poor thing,” George said, drying his hands and moving to wrap his arms around Clay.
-
Clay clung to George and buried his face in the crook of his neck, exhaling shakily.
-
“C’mere,” George said softly, rubbing Clay’s back. “Sorry, I probably smell like garlic,” he said with a quiet chuckle, trying to lighten to mood.
-
Clay chuckled softly, hugging George closer. “Maybe a little, but I don’t mind,” he spoke softly, lifting his head and looking at the brunette.
-
Gorge smiled, studying Clay for a moment. “Good, because I’m always gonna smell strongly of something.” He paused, rubbing Clay’s back. “You wanna talk about it? If you don’t, it’s okay.”
-
Clay exhaled softly, nodding. “My mom got upset at me because- she wanted me to- to invite girls to this big ass party she’s hosting, and she’s trying to force me to- force me to marry someone, and-“ He exhaled shakily, his eyes tearing up. “I- I kind of hinted at the fact that I like guys, and she- and she said it was disgusting-“
-
“Oh, honey,” George frowned, placing a hand on Clay’s shoulder. “It’s not disgusting- she’s wrong, okay? You’re not disgusting. You can’t control who you like.”
-
Clay nodded, rubbing his teary eyes with his hands. “I-I know, I just- I wish she’d understand that…” He murmured, staring at the floor.
-
“I know, it’s hard,” George said softly, moving his hands to wipe Clay’s tears away. “But- if she doesn’t, she doesn’t, y’know? You can’t help that.”
-
Clay nodded again, leaning into George’s touch. He sniffled a little, rubbing his eyes with one hand. “I’m sorry if- if I missed any messages, my mom took away my phone…”
-
“Oh, it’s okay, I just thought you were busy,” George said softly, running a hand through Clay’s hair. “I’m so sorry this is happening to you.”
-
Clay exhaled softly, leaning into George’s touch. “It’s okay I’m kind of used to it by now,” he mumbled, crossing his arms over his chest.
-
“That’s not okay, Clay,” George frowned, resting his hands on his boyfriend’s cheeks. “You deserve better than that. You know that, right?”
