Clay nodded, rolling up his sleeves and following George’s instructions.

“And then,” George grabbed the milk, pouring it into a measuring glass and handing it to Clay. “Pour this in.”

Clay nodded and took the cup, pouring it into the bowl.

“Okay, now c’mere,” George said, grabbing the bowl and moving over to the standing mixer, popping the bowl in and setting the mixer inside. “Set the dial to six and we’re gonna leave it for a while.”

“Got it,” Clay replied with a nod, following George over to the mixer and turning it on.

“And we do that again~!” George said, chuckling awkwardly. “God, I love my job-“

Clay chuckled softly, watching George with a smile. “Hopefully me helping you won’t f--- up the bread, I’m definitely not the best baker,” he said, chuckling softly.

“Nah, I’ve got it under control,” George said with a soft smile, veining out another sourdough starter.

Clay chuckled softly, nodding. “Do you bake often?” He asked, watching George for a moment.

“Three cups of flour,” George said passively, grabbing another mixer bowl before shrugging. “Eh, less than I cook. I honestly like cooking better.”

“I think baking would be fun,” Clay spoke, measuring out the flour and pouring it into the bowl. “I’d love to learn how to like, make a cake or make cupcakes one day~”

“Hm, it’s deceiving,” George said with a chuckle. “I can teach you sometime, though. I don’t make desert often, but-“

“Really?” Clay said, smiling at George. “I’d love that, Georgie~”

“Of course~” George said with a soft smirk, adding the other ingredients and moving to put it in the mixer. “Cake is really simple.”

“Awesome~” Clay said with a smile, chuckling softly. He continued helping George, humming softly.
