Casimir looked at Rupert. ‘Hey, can we talk?’ he asked, stepping forward.

“What do you want?” Rupert said bluntly, glaring at Casimir.

Casimir stuck his thumbs in his pockets, trying not to appear too nervous. ‘Rupert, I know we haven’t always got along, but I need you to stop being like that to Georgie. You can be mean to me all you want, but you’re freaking Georgie out.’

Rupert exhaled softly quietly, crossing his arms over his chest. “I’m just trying to look out for them.”

‘I know. And I get it, okay? But you’re not going to achieve that by s---ting on their boyfriend,’ Casimir said quietly. ‘But I need you to know that it wasn’t my fault. Heck, if I hadn’t showed up when I did, Georgie wouldn’t still be here.’

Rupert watched Georgie for a moment, squeezing his arm with his hand. “I- I guess I have been a bit much, haven’t I?” He muttered, exhaling softly.

‘Just a bit. I get you hate me and stuff, but could you dial it down?’ Casimir said.

Rupert sighed, nodding. “Yeah- Yeah, sorry,” he spoke, uncrossing his arms. “I’ll tone it down, I’m not trying to freak Georgie out.”

‘It’s okay, I get it. Thanks,’ Casimir said. He pat Rupert’s shoulder and walked back out in the garden to Georgie.

Rupert nodded, watching Casimir walk before going back into his room. Georgie lifted his head in his lying position, seeing Casimir come back outside. “Hi~”

Casimir smiled. ‘Hey,’ he said, sitting down next to them.

“Things go okay with Rue?” Georgie asked, rolling onto her side.

‘Yep,’ Casimir said, playing with Georgie’s hair. ‘He said he’d back off.’

“That’s good,” Georgie replied, sighing with relief. She smiled and leaned into Casimir’s touch, humming softly.

Casimir kissed their forehead, resting a hand on their shoulder.
