Karl waved back, watching Nick with a small smile. “G’morning,” he spoke softly, yawning a little.

“Morning,” Nick said with a yawn, stopping at the counter. “What do you want for breakfast?”

“Mm, I’m not really hungry-“ Karl spoke softly, keeping his gaze on the TV.

“The last time you had something was like, for lunch yesterday. You’re eating something,” Nick said, rubbing his eyes. “So, what do you want?”

“You got any cereal?” Karl asked after a few moments of thinking, exhaling softly.

“I got cheerios,” Nick said pointing to a box on the counter.

“That’ll do,” Karl said with a small smile, sitting up.

“Coming right up,” Nick said with a smile, clearing his throat a little. He walked over to the other counter, grabbing the box and finding a bowl he could use.

“Thank you,” Karl spoke softly, yawning quietly. He rubbed his eyes, leaning back against the couch.

“Mhm,” Nick hummed, making a bowl for himself and Karl, pouring milk and putting a spoon in both of them. He walked over to the couch, plopping down next to Karl and sitting down next to him.

Karl took one of the bowls from Nick’s hand and forced himself to take a bite, humming softly as he stared at the TV.

Nick leaned back in the couch, taking a bite and watching the TV.

Karl glanced over at Nick, watching him for a moment. “I-I’m not just, making this up, right?” He asked, setting his bowl in his lap. “I- I did kiss you at the hospital, then asked you out, right? Because honestly, I was so tired, I thought it was a f---ing dream-“

“Yeah, it happened,” Nick said with a chuckle, eating another spoonful of his cereal. “My question is where are we going?”

Karl smiled, taking another bite of his cereal. “Well, we could go to the movies, we could explore the downtown area some, we could drive to the beach- Mm, actually it may be a bit too far away. We could go to this art museum close by, or- or the aquarium!” He started throwing out suggestions, avoiding anything related to going somewhere to eat.
