“Ooh, yeah~” Karl said with a nod, smiling as he stood up straight. “If I remember correctly, they’re this way-“ He checked the map, nodding. “Yeah, that way~” He said, pointing down a nearby hallway.

“Okay,” Nick said with a chuckle, nodding as he following Karl. “Bro, I think my biggest dream is to see a whale shark in person. I hear they only have one in aquarium in like, Australia or something.”

“Ooh, whale sharks are super cool-“ Karl said, smiling as he tried to ignore the dull ache from his knee. “God, that reminds me of this one aquarium I went to- Not this one, it was somewhere else- It had this ginormous killer whale and it was so cool~”

“Woah, is that far from here?” Nick asked, smiling a little.

“Mm, only about a half hour drive from here, I think~” Karl replied, leading Nick to the shark area.

“Well, we’re going there for our next date,” Nick said with a giggle.

Karl beamed, giggling softly as he leaned into Nick’s side. “Totally~”

Nick giggled quietly, glancing around. “Alright, where-“ he glanced over, seeing the shark tank. “Oo-“

Karl giggled, leading Nick over to the tank. He cringed as a sharp bolt of pain washed over his knee, not making a sound. f---, that’s not good-

Nick didn’t noticed, totally focused on watching the sharks.

Karl ignored the growing pain in his knee, looking at the tank Nick was staring at. “What’s your favorite type of shark?” He asked, trying to distract himself from the pain. “Is it the whale sharks or something else?”

“Oo, well besides whale sharks,” Nick paused, eyes focused on the sharks. “I like hammerhead sharks, they look so goofy.”

“Pfft- Those are very goofy,” Karl said with a giggle, rubbing the back of Nick’s hand. He shifted his weight, accidentally letting out a quiet whine of pain.

Nick glanced over, frowning a little “Your knees hurting, isn’t it?”

Karl froze for a moment but nodded, exhaling softly. “Yeah, it- it hurts,” he murmured, wincing again as he shifted his weight again.
