Nick giggled a little, opening the second door for him onto the sidewalk. “Alright, my cars down the street here-“
-
Karl nodded and exited the door, being more careful about his crutches this time. He followed Nick to his car, humming softly.
-
Nick opened the passenger door for him once they arrived, humming softly. “I can put your crutches in the backseat so they’re not as annoying while you sit.”
-
“Yeah, that might be a good idea,” Karl said with a chuckle, moving to the seat and sitting down. He handed the crutches to Nick and got himself situated, buckling up.

-
“Yeah, kinda,” Nick said with a chuckle, tapping the steering wheel as he drove.
-
“I still feel bad about the photo,” Karl muttered quietly after a moment of silence, exhaling softly.
-
“It’s fine,” Nick said softly, his heart starting to race as he realized the remains of it and the picture frame were on his dining room table.
-
Karl watched Nick for a moment before looking away, exhaling softly,
-
Nick sighed, gripping the steering wheel as he drove.
-
Karl pulled out his phone, sending a text to his dad. “You don’t mind if my dad stops by every so often to check on me, do you? I’m sure he’s gonna want to,” he spoke, chuckling softly.
-
Nick shook his head a little, shrugging. “Nah, don’t worry about it. It’s only next door, too. He could probably lean out the window if he wants.”
