‘Er- yeah, they said no,’ Mason said with a weak, apologetic smile.

“f---, dude- Seriously?” Chris said, a sad look on his face. “Could- could I come over to your place or something?”

‘M-Maybe. I didn’t ask,’ Mason said, sighing softly.

“Let’s- let’s ask them, then-“ Chris suggested, grabbing Mason’s free hand. “C’mon, no harm in trying~”

Mason shrugged, grimacing. He sighed and took out his phone, texting his parents. Hey, can Chris please come over for a bit?
