“I made such a stupid mistake, I’m s-so sorry…” Chris murmured, tears welling up in his eyes.

“I- I’m sorry, I’m not- I’m not trying to make you feel bad, I just-“ Chris exhaled shakily, rubbing his eyes.

‘You just what?’ Mason said quietly.

“I feel s-so f---ing bad, I’m sorry, Mason…” Chris spoke, tears rolling down his cheeks. “I- I was such an idiot, I shouldn’t have- I shouldn’t have dumped you, I shouldn’t have let my- let my parents control me like, that, I’m so, so sorry…”

Mason shifted position and wiped his tears with his thumbs. ‘I know you’re sorry. I get it, okay?’

“But- I-I hurt you, how- how could you ever forgive me for that?” Chris whispered, his voice shaking.

‘I don’t. I might in time, but I don’t forgive you,’ Mason said quietly. ‘But I get it. And I still want to be your friend.’

Chris exhaled shakily, covering his face with his hands. “God, I don’t deserve you-“

Mason sighed softly, holding him close.
