Connor laughed and leaned over the center console, pressing a kiss on Evan’s cheek. “I’m gonna go buy some aloe vera really quick, you need me to get you anything?”

“Hey, I’ll come with you,” Evan said with a chuckle, unbuckling no.

Connor smiled and nodded, getting out of the car. He shut the door, walking over to Evan’s side and waiting for him before taking his hand, heading towards the store.

Evan smiled, taking Connor’s hand and walking toward the building. “God, people better not catch us here, that’d be bad-“

“Yeah, definitely don’t feel like getting fired tonight,” Connor said with a chuckle, gently squeezing Evan’s hand as they walked inside. “Mm, I might buy some snacks for me and my kiddos,” he added, looking around for a moment.

“Oh, I might too,” Evan said with a nod, sighing in the air conditioning as they walked in.

Connor hummed as he started walking, first going off in search for the aloe vera. “Hey uh, really weird question, but uh-“ He paused, thinking for a moment. “How- how would you go about asking someone if- if they were trans? Like- what would you say to ask someone??”

Evan went silent for a moment. “Uh, I dunno, I’ve never needed to ask that question before. Why?”

“I think that like, one of the kids in my cabin might be trans?” Connor asked, shrugging. “I mean, he seemed really reluctant to go swimming and always changes last- I don’t know, maybe I’m overthinking it-“

“Huh,” Evan paused for another moment. “I mean, does it really matter? Like, would it change anything, knowing if they were or weren’t trans?”

“No, of course not,” Connor said, shaking his head. “I only wanted to ask to like, make sure he knows he can like, trust me and s---- Maybe I shouldn’t ask, that might just make things worse-“ He groaned, leaning against Evan’s side. “I just don’t want him feeling uncomfortable around me or anything. He seems pretty comfortable around the boys, but-“

“Yeah, just, be nice and supportive, maybe drop some hints,” Evan said with a shrug. “But show him your supportive by being nice and inclusive, y’know?”

Connor nodded, chuckling softly. “Now, where’s the goddamn aloe vera, I’m like, f---ing burning over here,” he muttered, looking at the signs hanging over the isles.

“Yeah, you are,” Evan said with a chuckle, looking around. “Oh, over there-“

Connor looked over, heading in the direction Evan pointed out. “Yesss, thank God,” he said with a chuckle, going over and grabbing a bottle.
