“One more word out of your mouth, and you’ll have to be escorted out of the kingdom, ma’am,” Briar spoke harshly, glaring at Lawrence’s mother.

Lawrence’s mother scowled. ‘You can’t do that-‘ Her son pulled away from her and hid behind Briar again.

“Oh yeah, I can’t? Watch me,” Briar said angrily, holding his arms out in front of Lawrence. “Now leave, before I force you to.”

Lawrence’s mother scoffed and took a step forward. ‘I’d like to see you try.’

Briar scoffed and made a gesture in the air, a few guards running to his side. “I think you need to leave,” he said and the guards moved to her side, starting to guide her out of the castle.

Lawrence watched as his parents were directed out of the castle. His mother yelled over her shoulder at the two, ‘Lawrence, you piece of s---!’
Lawrence winced and looked down at his shoes. -
“Are you okay, love?” Briar spoke softly, moving in front of Lawrence and gently taking both his hands.

Lawrence nodded, trying not to cry and show how upset he really was.

Briar exhaled softly and let go of Lawrence’s hands, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend. “I’m so sorry, love,” he mumbled, rubbing his back. “I wish I could’ve done something more…”

Lawrence buried his face in his boyfriend’s hair, sniffling. He couldn’t cry in front of him. ‘I-It’s okay, love.’

Briar exhaled softly, holding Lawrence close. “Is she always like this?” He asked softly, continuing to rub his back.

Lawrence nodded, not saying anything for fear of breaking down. He wrapped his arms around Briar.

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry, baby,” Briar spoke softly, his voice shaking a little. He hugged Lawrence close, rubbing his back.

Lawrence let out a choked sob, hiding his face in his boyfriend’s shirt.

Briar held Lawrence close, rubbing his back. “It’s okay, darling, let it out~”
