‘My parents are just a--holes,’ Lawrence mumbled, burying his face in Briar’s shoulder. ‘Nothing to tell you.’

“I can definitely see that,” Briar said softly, running a hand through Lawrence’s hair. “I mean, you can always vent to me, though, if you need it.”

Lawrence nodded, holding him tightly. ‘I know,’ he mumbled, not really wanting to vent to him, though. Briar had his own problems.

Briar exhaled softly, hugging Lawrence close. “I wish I could help more…”

‘At least they’re gone,’ Lawrence mumbled, holding himself close. ‘How did they get in, though? Were they invited or something?

“No clue,” Briar replied with a shrug, gently massaging Lawrence’s head with his hand.

Lawrence sighed, eyes fluttering closed as he leaned into his touch, relaxing in his arms.

“Maybe my father had something to do with it,” Briar muttered, exhaling softly.

‘Maybe,’ Lawrence mumbled.

Briar sighed, hugging Lawrence close and kissing the top of his head. “I won’t let them near you if that’s what would make things better, okay? I hate seeing you hurting…”

Lawrence sighed softly. ‘Yes, please,’ he mumbled.

Briar nodded, kissing the top of Lawrence’s head. “And hey, soon we’ll be away and in our brand new cottage, with all our pets~”

Lawrence chuckled. ‘Yeah.’

Briar smiled, pressing another kiss on Lawrence’s head. “I love you, baby~”

Lawrence blushed, smiling. ‘Love you too,’ he mumbled. He loosened his tie and pulled off his blazer.
