“Woah, woah, Karl, okay,” Eloide crouched next to Karl, quickly sitting the floor next to the distressed brunette. “I don’t think this is your fault at all, okay? He had an issue saying I love you, and if that is the problem, you didn’t cause it in the first place, right? And that might not even be the problem!”

imsoclueless Senior"But what if it is...?" Karl mumbled, his voice muffled as he kept his head down. He lifted it after a moment, looking over at Elodie with teary eyes. "I-I love him s-so much, and I don't want- I don't want to be the reason he's hurting..."

“And you don’t know that you are!” Elodie said softly, placing a hand on Karl’s shoulder, shaking it gently. “It could be as simple as he doesn’t feel well, and he has his phone on Do Not Disturb?”

"You're- You're probably right, I- I should be jumping to conclusions," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes with the sleeve of his shirt. "I'm just- scared. He usually always picks up whenever I call him, or replies right away when I text him, so I'm- I'm just worried..."

“Yeah, and that makes sense,” Eloide said, wrapping an arm around Karl. “But immediately jumping to conclusions does not. So, let’s give it a little while, and we’ll try it again, okay? And no, again doesn’t mean ten minutes.” She chuckled softly.

imsoclueless SeniorKarl nodded, a small smile appearing on his face. "Fine, fine, I'll wait a bit," he said quietly, sniffling softly. He exhaled, closing his eyes for a moment and frowning as he let the anxious thoughts get to him. God, what if- what if something's happened to him? What if he's hurt and can't call me?? f---, I hate this so much...

“Karl, c’mon, let’s go feed the dogs and let them out,” She gave him a pat on the back, shaking him slightly as she saw him frown again. It was obvious he needed a distraction.

“Hey, c’mon,” Eloide quickly linked arms with Karl, humming the tune to “Singing in the Rain” and starting to skip towards the kennels, dragging the brunette with him.

imsoclueless SeniorKarl followed Elodie into the kennel, quietly humming along with her for a moment. He walked over to the supply closet and grabbed a bag of food, going to the large play pen to fill the bowls.

“It’s gonna be okay, Karl, alright?” Eloide said moving to grab the food bowls.

imsoclueless SeniorKarl nodded again, exhaling as he poured out food into the bowls. He stood and walked back to the supply closet, putting away the food. He hummed softly as he walked over to the crates, opening one and grabbing the dog inside. "Morning, cutie~" He said in a quiet voice, going to open up another crate and let the dogs out.
