"No, he didn't," Karl replied anxiously, sending a quick text to Nick. He paused and took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Maybe he- Maybe he just woke up not feeling good and couldn't go, or maybe- maybe he had something important to do... -
“Hey, calm down, I bet it’s fine,” Eloide frowned, patting the seat next to her for Karl to sit down.
Immediately, a text sent back to Karl of an automated message- I’m driving right now. I won’t be able to see your message. It was an automated thing that Nicks dad had set up for anytime his son drove, and it would come on anytime Nicks phone was on Do Not Disturb. The ravenette wasn’t actually driving, but he was laying in bed, feeling almost paralyzed. -
imsoclueless SeniorKarl exhaled as he walked over to the chair, sitting down. "Yeah, you're- you're right," he said with a sigh. He quickly looked down at his phone to see a reply, hugging one leg to his chest and resting his chin on his knee. "Says he's driving right now..."

Eloide furrowed her brows, looking at Karl’s phone to see for herself. “Who the hell uses those automated driving messages except for old ladies and teenagers forced by their parents? Is Nick a goody-two-shoes?”

imsoclueless Senior"I think it's something his dad set up for him," Karl replied, "because I feel like he told me once." He sighed as he looked back at his phone, a worried expression on his face. "I have a feeling he's not 'out driving', though."

imsoclueless Senior"I don't know," Karl mumbled anxiously, putting his phone in his pocket. Come on, Karl- pull it together. He's probably just busy, you can't get clingy...

Eloide hummed in thought for a second before her laptop started to ring with notifications. She checked them haphazardly before realizing what they were and looking at them more closely. “Karl, he just dropped the rest of his shifts this week.”

The call went straight to voicemail, since his phone was on Do Not Disturb. -

“What? No! Karl, we don’t know, anything yet,” Eloise stood, walking over to Karl. “For all we know, somthing could’ve happened with his brothers, or he just feels like s--- and has his phone if do not disturb right now. Don’t jump to conclusions, alright? We’re gonna figure this out.” -

"But what if it is?!" Karl exclaimed, tears running down his cheeks. He furiously wiped them away, trying hard not to imagine Nick's hand doing it for him. "God, I- I shouldn't have pressured him by telling him 'I love you' so much! If- If I knew how hard it was for him to, I-" He slumped to the floor, hugging his legs to his chest and burying his face in his knees.
