Sparks shot out of both of their wands.

They both went incredibly still.

Ernie looked at the two of them, eyes wide. “Selene?”

Mahina rushed over. ‘Selene? Selene?!’

Ernest walked over to Selene, shaking her shoulder gently. “Selene!”

Mahina grabbed her hands. ‘Selene, please!’

Selene didn’t move. “Come on, Selene!”

Tears welled in Mahina’s eyes. She buried her face in Selene’s shoulder. ‘Please…’

Ernest shook her shoulders again. “…Selene?…”

Mahina started crying into Selene’s shoulder. ‘No, please…’

Ernie moved to Mahina, massaging her back gently to try and get her to calm down.

Mahina wrapped her arms around Selene’s neck, sobbing.

“Selene, please.” Ernie mumbled.

Mahina tried to control herself, but she couldn’t stop the tears coming out. She looked at Ernest. ‘Sh-She can’t be gone. She can’t be…’
