Ernie frowned. "Can't you tell me?" He asked softly. "Maybe it'd help..."

Mahina hid in his arm. ‘N-No…’

"Alright." Ernest said quietly. "That's alright."

Mahina shook slightly.

Ernie was growing more and more worried, but he didn't push her to say anything more.

Mahina hid in his body.

Ernest let her. "You'll be alright." He said softly.

Mahina whimpered.

"Why do you whimper so much whenever I say that?" Ernie asked gently.

Mahina shook her head, burying her face in his chest.

Why are you so insistent on not telling me?... Ernest didn't say anything else. If this was Callisto's doing, he'd make sure she was sorry, and he didn't care what she'd do to him after.

Mahina took deep breaths, trying to calm herself down. She wasn’t thinking straight, and could barely comprehend how vulnerable she was.

Ernie wanted to help, but he also knew nothing he was doing was working, so he just let her try and calm herself down on her own.
