Mahina jerked slightly before her eyes fluttered open.

"You alright?" Ernest asked quietly.

Mahina nodded shakily.

Ernie wiped her tears away with his thumb, giving a gentle smile. "Do you mind telling me what the nightmare was about?" He asked softly.

‘H-How did you know?’

"You were whimpering. And crying." He said quietly.

Mahina looked away. ‘Oh.’

Ernie shuffled closer to her. "Hey, it's alright. I'm just worried." He said softly. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

Mahina whimpered and shook her head.

"Alright, alright." Ernest said quickly, noticing how upset she was about it. "That's ok."

Mahina snuggled up to him, crying quietly.

Ernie wrapped his arms around her instinctively, holding her close. "Hey, don't cry, it's just a nightmare, it's over now." He said softly.

Mahina shook her head, whimpering. ‘It’s not over. It’ll never be over.’

Ernest's eyebrows furrowed. "Oh Mahina, what's wrong?" He murmured.

Mahina didn’t respond. She buried her face in his shirt.
