Ernie laughed. "That's better. Ready to start the day yet?"

‘No,’ Mahina mumbled.

"Alright." Ernest chuckled. Then he was reminded of something. "Hey, doesn't your roommate come back today?"

Mahina’s eyes widened. ‘s---!’ she shouted. The town’s nuns would’ve washed her mouth out with soap for that.

"Hey, quiet! No screaming in the morning! What's so bad about that?"

Mahina sat up. ‘You need to go. Now!’ she exclaimed. She stood up and shut the curtain dividing the room, so she was on Selene’s side and Ernest was on Mahina’s so she could get dressed.

"What?" Ernie knew Mahina talked about her roommate not liking humans, but he figured he'd get some kind of exception rule since he was y'know, her boyfriend.

‘I’m serious!’ Mahina exclaimed. She changed into a dark green dress and opened the curtain.

Ernest just stared at her in surprise before opening the door. "When'll she be gone again? Like, on errands or something?" He wanted to come back still, even if it was just for a moment.

Mahina was getting upset. ‘I.. don’t know.’

"Well I'm not just leaving you." Ernie frowned.

Mahina walked into the kitchen. Thank god, Selene wasn’t already here. She cleared her head. ‘No, you can’t do that,’ she mumbled.

Ernest followed her after checking that her roommate wasn't there. He thought. Maybe he could sneak in at night sometimes? Assuming her roommate didn't wake up easily, that is.
